Cornus florida 'Royal Red'
flowering dogwoood

This florida cultivar is selected for its red bracts. The 'Royal Red' has the brightest red bracts of all the florida cultivars. Young shoots are initially red and turn dark green after a while. In autumn, the 'Royal Red' turns bright red and purple. Taking care of the 'Royal Red' is the same as for the rest of the species and the plant is completely winterproof.
