Cornus 'Norman Hadden' is a crossbreed between Cornus kousa and Cornus capitata (which is not winterproof/wintergreen) Cornus 'Norman Hadden' flowers in May/June with flowers surrounded by b4 cream white bracts which attain some pink accents after a few weeks. In autumn, plenty strawberry-like fruits appear. Eventually this crossbreed can reach a height of 5m, but when you cut back the young (1 or 2 year old) shoots you can keep it smaller. Its autumn colors are much less spectacular than Cornus kousa’s. During mild winters, 'Norman Hadden' will not shed its leaves. It is not as winterproof as Cornus kousa, but when kept in a sheltered spot and protected against harsh conditions, 'Norman Hadden' is well worth keeping in your garden. It is cared for in the same manner as the Cornus kousa.
